You will serve as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the Information Technology and Cyber Security (IT&CS) Department, Code 109 of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will serve as an Information Technology (IT) Cybersecurity analyst and subject matter expert (SME) on command wide programs. You will document information such as functional descriptions, maintenance manuals, test and implementation plans, cost analysis, specification documents and/or product feasibility studies. You will develop primary instructions, guidance, and procedures for the implementation of mandatory technical and IT security standards, in accordance with Navy standard correspondence. You will evaluate Information technology procurement request (ITPRs) for cybersecurity compliance in accordance with governing directives. You will develop, present, and continuously improve Cybersecurity training for the organization. You will serve as a senior Cybersecurity technical specialist for problem solving and troubleshooting. You will evaluate, design, and recommend technically feasible and cost effective approaches regarding the most effective and efficient process automation solution.

  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials in accordance with DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Management Program, February 15, 2023 supporting DON policies.
  • Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position specialty area Systems Security Analyst, level Intermediate. Credentials must be met within 12 months of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a subject matter expert for Information Technology (IT) Cybersecurity administration, accounts, communication, program administration, and project management. . Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: reviewing certification and accreditation documentation to ensure compliance with accreditation process. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: managing or monitoring information systems or network security in support of an organization's mission. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: providing guidance or recommendation on corrective actions to identify procedural or systems deficiencies. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: identifying critical problems in existing systems to conduct research for the development of solutions.
