You will serve as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGOY SPECIALIST (NETWORK) in the IT SERVICES DEPARTMENT (N61) of FLT NUMER OCEANGPHY METEO CTR.
Duties
You will serve as technical authority in area of personal expertise.
You will plan, design, and implement and manage operational configuration of a large and complex network.
You will analyze and plan for anticipated network growth requirements and conducting cost-benefit analyses and total cost of ownership and capacity studies.
You will plan, design, and implement the operational installation, configuration and maintenance of intranet, Internet, extranet gateways and systems.
You will develop and administer contingency and disaster recovery plans.
You will develop establish and administer security policies and practices.
You will exchange ideas of techniques and analysis of network requirements and specifications to evaluate current and proposed development efforts with planners, engineers, and technical experts form other government agencies and industry.
You will participate in interagency working groups or committees to provide expert technical perspective and create long-range interagency plans with significant consequences for participating agencies.

- You must obtain and maintain the credentials in the specialty area Network Operations Specialist with a proficiency level of Intermediate in accordance with DoDM 8140.03 for DCWF within 12 months of appointment.

Qualifications
GS-12:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience overseeing the complete lifecycle of all network systems to include keeping inventory of all equipment in a data center, drawing network diagrams, tech refreshing new equipment and configuration management.
Experience applying technical security configurations, interpret policies and implement network security standards for HPC environment and 3-Tier networks
Experience working and having mastery knowledge of professional project management practices for Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) activities that are performed to design, build, deliver, operate and control IT services offered to customers in a large to medium scale data center.
Experience analyzing and planning for anticipated network growth requirements in a data center and be able to engage solution providers and engineers of new or existing technology solutions
Experience planning, designing, implementing and managing the operational configuration of complex networks in a Data Center.
