As a Configuration Management Specialist with the Contract & Configuration Management Branch, you will be responsible for policies, procedures, and operations for configuration management for the Branch. You will lead a team of specialists ensuring the control of the configuration baseline, control of changes, integrity, and traceability of the configuration throughout the lifecycle, performing verifications and audits and supporting configuration activities.

Duties

Serves as a Subject Matter Expert and key advisor to senior management as lead Control and Data Management (CDM) specialist. Leads office planning and execution of strategies for implementing a robust and sustainable Configuration Management baseline structure. Leads the advanced planning and development of CDM processes, procedures, plans and requirements to successfully implement and execute the CDM functions to achieve Certification of Flight Readiness (CoFR). Develops, reviews, and presents accurate CDM reports and information to senior management to ensure flight vehicle is on track to meet CoFR. Exercises expert judgment of configuration management policies and issues and ensure analyses of policies result in feasible options or alternate proposals. Advises and communicates CDM concerns/issues to management and implement resolutions. Ensures the control of the configuration baseline, control of changes, integrity and traceability of hardware configuration throughout the lifecycle and performing verifications using CDM principles and foundations. Conducts configuration audits of flight and ground systems and present results to management to assure flight vehicle is certifiable for flight. Requirements

  • Current Federal employees must meet qualifications, time in grade, and 90 days after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of the announcement.

  • This is a bargaining unit position - American Federation of Government Employees – Local 513.

Qualifications

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level: Developing presentations and delivering briefings, project papers, status/staff reports, and/or correspondence to senior leaders and stakeholders; Leading in verifications, audits, and configuration activities; Providing organizational resources analysis and maintaining financial records to ensure adherence to Federal regulations, policies, and procedures.
