As Branch Chief you are responsible for leading branch employees to support development and execution of organizational priorities, and provide coordination, integration, management, tracking and reporting across multiple internal and external stakeholders to achieve organizational goals. Branch responsibilities include: facility/space management, Export Control, agreement management, integration functions, risk management, travel and training, document management, badging, and audit support.
Duties
Oversee, advise, administer, supervise or perform work that drives business processes, implement integration efforts, or execute change management efforts to meet organizational priorities.
Ensure goals, and objectives are aligned to the NASA and Spaceport strategic vision and are communicated through means including the Business Objective Agreements, a strategic plan and related initiatives, and engagement activities.
Oversee, lead, and conduct special studies for NASA Programs/Projects and its partners.
Perform technical activities supporting the management process whether within the context of a line organization, direction of a contracted effort, or management of grants. Work may involve monitoring contractors supporting NASA projects.
Identify, present, and promote management strategies that aim to improve employee and team performance and engagement. Manage staffing levels, develop succession plans and actively participate in employee development.
Enable efforts to accomplish organizational objectives by developing and implementing solutions and new approaches to improve productivity, mission results, operational efficiency, and/or generate savings of time or money.
Perform a full range of supervisory duties which includes assigning and evaluating work; recommending personnel actions; taking disciplinary actions; and identifying training needs and developing employees.

Requirements
- Current Federal employees must meet qualifications, time in grade, and 90 days after competitive appointment requirements by the closing date of the announcement.
- This position may require a one-year supervisory probationary period.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:
Leading multi-disciplined or cross-functional teams in support of accomplishing organizational objectives in support of NASA Operations;
Developing solutions for problems that impact multiple operations areas (e.g. addressing critical timelines, organizational risk, resource allocation, compatibility of systems and/or subsystems, and project performance);
Developing business models and processes focused on process improvement and enabling mission success.
