The mission of the Digital Media Services (DMS) is to provide the USPTO with a wide range of multimedia products and services, including large webcast support, computer-based training (CBT), in person/virtual audio-video production and digital photography. DMS primarily supports the Patents Cost Center, most notably the technology centers and Office of Patent training. DMS provides direct support to senior USPTO management, including the Under Secretary's office and the Commissioner for Patents.

Duties

The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia.This position is telework eligible per agency and business unit discretion/policy.

Specialized Experienceis experience that has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS-13. Specialized experience for this position includes: 1) Manage IT and multimedia projects as a team leader for multiple organizations, to include webcast support, computer base training (CBT), and digital media services; 2) leads briefings and guidance to provide technical advice to management on critical IT issues; and 3) develop, manage, and oversee the execution of project schedules, modifications, project requirements, milestones and budget scope. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
