This position is located in the Digital Media Services Division providing digital a/v editing and production for an array of multimedia products and services, including webcasts, computer-based training, a/v production, and photography for the Patent organization. The incumbent serves as division expert point of contact for all multimedia communication and ensuring compliance with Section 508 and accessibility laws to those with hearing, visual and other impairments.

Duties
The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia.This position is telework eligible per agency and business unit discretion/policy.
Major Duties for this position include:
-Serves as an Audiovisual (AV) Production Specialist acting as a producer-director/project manager and senior video editor with total responsibility for management and direction of the completed "cradle-to grave" evolution of assigned projects.
-Projects include short-form video productions in a variety of genres and creative pieces, interview segments, teleprompter speeches, training and instruction used in computer-based training (CBT) development and other multimedia products, montages cut to music, special event coverage as well as the support and recording of live large Webcasts, Webinars, video-conferences and other virtual event.
-Using a variety of AV acquisition methods including digital video shoots in the studio or in the field, green-screen technique, screen video captures of automated information system (AIS) training, portions of recorded Webcasts and sound-booth audio recordings.
-As part of the post-production phase as well as live video productions, incumbent trains and assists junior video editors on the SOPs used and advanced digital video-editing techniques in the operation of the Adobe Creative and Apple Final Cut Pro suite of applications and various non-linear editing software, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and After Effects software.
-Trains and assists junior video editors, videographers and Webcast support personnel on the use of advance equipment including voiceover recording booth, jib, dedolight and equipment used to capture video for green screen compositing or otherwise in high quality 4:2:2 color space in Apple ProRes 422 format.

Specialized Experienceis experience in the actual type of work for which application is made. Experience that has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS-12.
Specialized experience for this position includes: Planning and managing phases of video production (e.g., pre-production and post-production, life cycle) projects; planning and managing the use of audiovisual images, 3D computer generated (CG) content, and/or green-screen compositing techniques; and utilizing devices to communicate ideas on a variety of topics.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Education may not be substituted for specialized experience at this grade level.
