You will serve as an IT Specialist (NETWORK) in the Corporate Business & Analysis Group, Digital, Information Technology, Analysis & Cyber Department, Digital Infrastructure Division of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE.

Duties

You will be responsible for the strategic planning, design, equipment installation and maintenance, and equipment deployment for networks. You will research emerging technologies and working with vendors or government entities to provide engineered networking solutions to address evolving needs of our networks. You will work with with network operations team to detect and fix network outages. You will design and support solutions for customers, specifically projects involving new technologies or concepts.

• This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 441, proficiency level Intermediate, the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DS-03 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Working knowledge of enterprise network infrastructure; 2) Managing and administering enterprise IT systems and software such as: switching/routing network devices, security stack devices, network monitoring systems, server devices, emergent networking or computing technologies, or cloud-based systems; 3) Participating in information technology design activities for networks. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.

or

3 full years (54 hours) of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
