This position is located in the Office of Investment and Innovation (OII). OII promotes small business and startup investment and innovation by providing access to capital, networks, and assistance critical for businesses to incubate, expand and sustain. OII partners with Small Business Investment Companies (SBICs), Innovation Accelerator Networks, Universities, and the SBIR (Small Business Innovation Research)/STTR (Small Business Technology Transfer Program community.

Duties

Clarification on pay range for duty Location in Washington, DC GS-12, Step 1 $99,200 - Step 10 $128,956 or GS-13, Step 1: $117,962 - Step 10 $153,354 Duties: Performs financial analyses on business entities to evaluate credit transactions and monitor credit risk. Monitors operations of business entities for adherence to business plans and regulatory compliance. Recommends corrective action when necessary. Serves as a technical authority in the development and interpretation of guidelines. Prepares and presents recommendations on organizational improvement and/or program effectiveness to address concerns on policies and practices adopted by the agency.

  • You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
  • This is a bargaining unit position with AFGE Local 228.
  • This is not a drug testing designated position (TDP).

Qualifications

To qualify at the: GS-12: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector that includes: Performing financial analysis and evaluation of management structures, operations, and practices of corporations and other organizations; AND Assisting in researching, interpreting, and applying, regulations and policies to business operations that will ensure compliance with program regulations, polices, and procedures. These qualifications must be clearly referenced in your resume. To qualify at the: GS-13: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector that includes: Performing complex financial analysis and evaluation of management structures, operations, and practices of corporations and other organizations; AND Researching, interpreting, and applying, regulations and policies to business operations that will ensure compliance with program policies and procedures; AND Leading regulatory compliance for program policies and procedures used to manage program risk. These qualifications must be clearly referenced in your resume. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by 11:59 pm (Eastern Time) on 08/30/2024.
