Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as a Budget Officer. You can make a difference in the West by assisting in meeting increasing water demands while protecting the environment. The final determination of the duty station for this position will be made by the selecting office. You must live with 50 miles of a Bureau of Reclamation location. This is not a Remote position.

Duties
Duties included:
Directing the execution of approved operating budget to ensure that funds are properly allocated consistent with organization objectives.
Oversee the preparations of a wide variety of monthly budget reports and detailed background strategy documentation for presenting budget and its execution to higher level management.
Preparing and overseeing the preparation of detailed analyses and estimates of annual and multi-year funding needs.
Advising senior management and program officials on matters of Federal appropriations and Federal accounting laws, policies, and regulations.
Qualifications

To qualify at the GS-14, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-13 level in federal service having demonstrated experience but not limited to: Develop, evaluate, and revise as necessary, integrated long-term and short-term regional program plans, strategies, and budgets; ensures consistency and continuity of program and project management within the Region and provides a central point of contact on assigned phases of programs; establishing and maintaining effective and efficient management processes; providing expert advice to senior level management and program managers on all phases of budget execution and financial management.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-In-Grade: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower-grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).
You must meet all Eligibility and Qualification requirements, including time-in-grade restrictions and any selective placement factors if applicable, by 09/06/2024.

This position does not allow substituting education for experience.
