About the Position: Incumbent will serve as a training specialist responsible for developing and/or evaluating training materials for the Theatre Specific Individual Requirements Training (TSIRT) Program of Instruction (POI). The work requires knowledge of a wide range of training methods, techniques, and tools, to include knowledge of training developments in the field, in order to design and develop training courses and materials, evaluate training programs.

Duties

Collects and analyzes Theatre Specific Individual Requirements Training (TSIRT) instructional and demographic data on in-house taught courses and contractor taught courses Evaluates complete, full-length training modules or course units primarily in all or one of the commodities in the TSIRT Program of Instruction Designs, develops, distributes, analyzes and summarizes questionnaires for course evaluation, including both in-house questionnaires and questionnaires sent to graduates in the field. Organizes or participates in TSIRT validation workshops consisting of functional experts to determine critical tasks and instructional settings. Advises course managers on data collection methods. Reviews and recommends tests for approval. Conducts and attends conferences on TSIRT training matters as required. Maintains liaison with military and civilian education and training community, with other organizations within United States Infantry School (USAIS),

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques of instruction, which includes: (1) perform self-initiated projects that are based on need or assigns tasks and provides guidance on policies, milestones and objectives for the project, and is available for further guidance on unusual or difficult problems; (2) Independently perform services, develop products and take actions that are technically sound; and (3) review work upon completion to determine general effectiveness and consistency with the educational and training philosophy and objectives of the program and with the policies of the organization. and (4) Perform with a comprehensive knowledge of instruction and training concepts along with an extensive knowledge of military doctrine and concepts as pertaining to the Theatre Specific Individual Requirements Training (TSIRT). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as Education Learning or Management . OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral CommunicationPlanning and EvaluatingTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
