This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for supports the Joint Staff DeputyDirectorate Cyber and Command, Control, Communications, and Computers Integration (DDC51), Command, Control, Communications, and Computers/Cyber Directorate (J6) and the Director J6.
Duties
As a SUPERVISORY PROGRAM SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-15 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Reviews and oversees assigned tasks of complex administrative and technical support involving both civilian and contractor personnel.
Assists the Deputy Director and Director in developing and disseminating manpower and enabling financial mandatessupporting C2 functions.
Evaluates the adequacy and policy compliance of testing activities between Joint C2 capabilities and externalInformation Technology (IT) systems.
Co-chairs the Department's C2 Council of Colonels (CoC) comprised of operational representatives from the Combatant Commands, Services, DoD Agencies, Joint Staff, OSD and mission partners.
Advances management and organizational principles and practices along with a comprehensive knowledge of planning, programming, and budgeting regulations, guidelines and process, and thorough knowledge of the military command's facilities planning, acquisition, and management process.

- The employee may be required to work overtime, weekends, and holidays during peak workload situations or while TDY.
- Employee must be willing and able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
- Employee must obtain/maintain a Special Sensitive (Top Secret/SCI) security clearance.
- The incumbent must possess prior work experience on at least two of the following staffs: OSD, Joint Staff, Combatant Command, component staff, Service headquarters, major command, or a NATO command (strategic or major).
- Incumbents without previous Joint Staff experience must also attend the Joint Staff training course for new employees.
Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the 14 grade level in the Federal service:
Leading experimentation planning and overseeing necessary supporting Doctrine, Organization, Training, Leadership Awareness, Personnel, Facilities and Policy (DOT_LPF-P) deliverables at all classification levels.
Providing early identification, validation, and prioritization of system/capability problem reports and with external organizations.
Briefing military, congressional and mission partner senior-level decision makers to include Secretary of Defense/Deputy Secretary of Defense.
In-depth knowledge and expertise in all Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control (CJADC2) and Joint command and control (C2) initiatives and adequately articulate the impacts and effects of such program.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
