This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for the development and delivery of the continuum of individual, staff, and collective training to enhance the operational effectiveness of the current and future joint force.
Duties
As a SUPERVISORY TRAINING SPECIALIST at the GS-0301-15 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Directs, plans, organizes, and manages the programs and activities of the Deployable Training Division.
Serves as a strategic advisor to the Deputy Director, JT, on force support issues.
Provides a strategic vision, submits necessary documents, and advocates for funding through the Deputy Director and J7 channels.
Links national defense strategy, national military strategy, achievement of unified action by integrated military forces in operations conducted across domains such as land, sea, air, space, or the information environment, strategic planning and contingency planning.
Implements Globally Integrated Operations within all aspects of the Division mission.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the 14 grade level in the Federal service:
Facilitates training, schedules, and supervises civilian, military and contractor personnel; Interprets all travel regulations, Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection requirements;
Leads joint exercises support and coordinates with senior leaders to provide trained interoperable joint forces for crisis response operations;
Translates and transfers all aspects of joint force development and design into the deployable training division portfolio;
Establishes and coordinates scheduling of manpower, material, systems, and facilities with a solid working knowledge of the planning, programming, and budgeting system (PPBS).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
