You will serve as an EMERGENCY CONSOLIDATED DISPATCHER (OA) in the PROVOST MARSHAL DIVISION of MARINE CORPS BASE.
Duties
You will receive all emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance for fire, police, ambulance and others, on the radio and/or telephone.
You will determine the nature, type and location of the problem/emergency, as well as the type of emergency equipment and number of personnel needed for initial response to the location of the incident.
You will scan charts, grid maps, and computer monitors to determine what units are available to respond to an incident.
You will operate a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system and other systems critical for National Security.
You will assist in the restoration of services related to communication systems and conduct daily checks on communication equipment.
You will maintain radio call logs, patrol dispatch logs, and recall rosters as required to maintain accurate records.

- This position requires rotating shift work.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current DoD Tele-communicator I and II level certifications.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR/First Aid) certification within 6 months after entry into the position.
- You will be required to possess and maintain certification as an Emergency Medical Dispatcher OR possess a Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) certificate. If hired with DCI certification outside of NC, you must become NC State DCI certified.
- Must be able to maintain a NC DCI certification while in the position and you must not have been previously de-certified due to misuse of the DCI System.
- This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Receiving and processing incoming fire alarms, 911 calls, emergency and non-emergency requests for services for police, fire, and medical incidents; and Operating office communication equipment including fire alarm receivers, emergency radio, and security monitoring receivers.
