About the Position: This position is located at CASCOM, Fort Eustis, VA. Fort Eustis, Virginia is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach. Local Transportation via the Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) bus service to the surrounding area which includes Hampton, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach, York County, Gloucester, Suffolk, and Smithfield.

Duties

Serves as a General Supply Specialist for the Maritime and Intermodal Training Department (MITD) and U.S. Army Transportation School (TCS) elements or divisions. Primary Contract Officer’s Representative for supply products with services included independently researches assorted vendors in support unit projects required for mission accomplishment. Serves as the Ammunition Specialist for the U. S. Army Transportation School (TCS) at Joint Base Langley-Eustis. Prepares supply and purchase documents and provides inputs into Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army) and other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Exam and an annual exam thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain a Contracting Officer Representative training certificate within 6 months from date of appointment.
  • Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain forklift training certification and license, in order to operate up to a 6K forklift.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Logistics or Supply Chain Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementInventory ManagementOperations SupportSupply Planning Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the second lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
