You will serve as a SUPERVISORY HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (INFORMATION SYSTEMS) in the OCHR STENNIS OPERATIONS CENTER. Salary Ranges Stennis, MS: $86,962 - $113,047 San Diego, CA: $99,044 - $128,752 Philadelphia, PA: $95,694 - $124,398 Portsmouth, VA: $88,183 - $114,634 Silverdale, WA: $97,376 - $126,585

Duties

You will develop alternative solutions to resolve conflicts in achieving human resources goals and objectives. You will respond to customer inquiries by researching data from a human resources information system (e.g., Defense Civilian Personnel Data System [DCPDS] or similar system). You will manage a human resources program through a staff of human resources specialists and assistants. You will develop solutions for resolving performance problems.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Serving as an expert troubleshooter and consultant for civilian personnel processing matters that are difficult, controversial and complex; 2) Supervising or leading the work of lower-graded HR Specialists and Assistants on projects and work assignments related to processing federal civilian personnel actions; 3) Evaluating the work performance of subordinate personnel action processors to determine training and needs for improvement; and 4) Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with and gaining the confidence and cooperation of Human Resources Office specialists, activity managers, supervisors and employees.
