You will serve as a MANAGEMENT AND PROGRAM ANALYST in the BUSINESS SUPPORT UNIT of NAVAL POSTGRADUATE SCHOOL.

Duties

You will develop, analyze, evaluate, implement, and manage improvements to manpower utilization, administrative and fiscal programs, support staff work methods and procedures, management controls, and information and documentation systems. You will advise personnel on and review computations of complex pay changes for block of accounts which require making retroactive adjustments and tracing errors involving the correction of pay covering long periods of time. You will provide administrative support of pay step raises, promotion and tenure, award letters, joint appointments, and hiring processes (collect application packages, set up interviews, etc.) You will input travel arrangements, providing travel approval status, collecting receipts for reconciliation of travel claims, initiating travel claims and providing status updates to faculty on outstanding issues/concerns regarding their travel.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card to make official government purchases for goods and services.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Coordinating with personnel on administrative, budget, payroll or travel procedures; 2) Answering questions about labor or civilian pay; and 3) Developing solutions to purchasing or travel issues; and 4) Developing reports on budget actions to submit to leadership. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:


master's or equivalent graduate degree

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related
