Duties
As a Acquisition Program Officer you will:
Lead the Acquisition Program Management Office (APMO) which is responsible for determining program needs for IT contractual services, plans and develops procurement strategies, and oversees the ongoing administration of the contracts throughout their life-cycle.
Provide expert advice and assistance with the CDC programs in preparing, processing, awarding, implementing, and managing Request for Task Orders Proposals (RFTOPs), Task Orders, and other contractual agreements.
Serve as an expert contracting resource having primary responsibility for the development and direction of designated contracted services.
Exercise supervisory authority and responsibility and performs administrative and personnel management functions relative to staff supervised.
Provide orientation, mentoring, and training to less experienced staff concerning the acquisition process.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, which must include the following experience: overseeing the administration of contracts throughout their life-cycle (including preparing, processing, awarding, implementing, and managing contractual agreements) and developing objectives, policies and plans for an office.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
College or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a list of schools which meet these criteria, please refer to
