About the Position: Serves as a staff officer in the Munitions Items Disposition Action System (MIDAS) Team.
Duties
Responsible for Munition Item Disposition Action System (MIDAS).
Monitor inventory levels, researching and characterizing ammunition items planned for demilitarization.
Project trends and tonnages requiring disposal to define base-line workload levels.
Execute assigned portion of the munitions project to include planning and organizing work.
Identify potential problems in implementing new disposal technologies.
Provide recommendations to potential problems and issues preventing the storage, transportation, reuse or resale of munitions or the disposal process by products.
Advise managers or other officials on the technical and logistics issues involving munitions disposal.
Gather and analyzes data on the service inventories of unwanted munitions.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. If the security clearance is denied or revoked, the individual may be denied or removed from the position, accordingly.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Cycle Logistics Certification within 36 months of entrance on duty.
- Business travel required 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Utilizing the Munitions Items Disposition Action System (MIDAS); 2) recommend solutions to ammunition logistics and demilitarization issues, and 3) provide researching and interpretating of ammunition technical data to support mission goals. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
