About the Position: This position is with the United States Army Reserve Command, G-3/7, Collective Training Division located at Fort Liberty, North Carolina.

Duties

Advise the Division Chief and Army Reserve Director of Training, G-7 for all pre-mobilization collective training. Serve as the USARC exercise policy and directive coordinator with all external agencies for matters pertaining to Army Reserve participation in exercises. Develop collective training programs such as The Army Reserve Exercise Program, Annual Training Maneuver Combat Training Center and Combat Support Training Center rotations. Develop budgetary input to the Program Analysis and Resource Review for inclusion in the Program Objective Memorandum and to the Command Operating Budget. Evaluate Army Reserve exercise participation to ensure training objectives are met and training priorities are achieved. Recommended collective training strategies, policies, regulations and issues to the Army Reserve G-7 and Command Group. Supervise field grade officers, Department of the Army Civilians, and contractors.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Executing both short and long range joint exercise programs involving higher headquarters, other military and civilian national agencies and foreign government. Interpreting command and higher headquarters directives, policies, procedures and regulations covering all phases of exercises in support of the USARCs mission, goals and objectives. Conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis, to evaluate the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of joint exercise programs. Performing a wide variety of analytical studies and projects related to management improvement, productivity improvement, management controls, and long-range planning. Justifying a training budget to ensure management concurrence. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
