This position is located in the Air Traffic Organization (ATO), Mission Support Services. Mission Support Services provides administration of shared technical and program services which promote standardization of processes to support efficiency and effectiveness in the NAS.
Duties
Serves as the principal support to which all organizations, service areas and field facilities, including Air Route Traffic Control Centers (ARTCCs), Terminal Radar Approach Controls (TRACONs), and ATC Towers, come for guidance on matters involving ATC standards and procedures. Applies knowledge of air traffic control automation, communication, navigation, and surveillance systems. Reviews, analyzes, and documents the development and implementation of new or revised procedures and separation standards, equipment, software and other operations-related activities. Develops and recommends changes to policies and procedures and develops reports. Represents Mission Support Services in discussions, meetings and briefings with internal and external agencies and organizations on ATC on projects, programs, research and acquisition.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents).
Qualifications
Candidates must have one year (52 weeks) of SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (FV-I or FG/GS-13) that is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as:Experience supporting the prioritization and validation of program requirements.Experience in the application of air traffic control procedures and operations, to assists more experienced in the development of new or revise policies and procedures.You should include relevant examples of the specialized experience in your work history.
