About the Position: As the Senior Analyst of Air and Missile Defense and Space Division within the Department of the Army, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G8 (DCS,G8), incumbent receives broad and general guidance from the Director, Force Development (FD) and Director of Materiel (DOM), and specific guidance from Chief, Air and Missile Defense and Space Division.
Duties
Assures overall research, development, acquisition (RDA), installation, training, and sustainment priorities established during affordability reviews, and subsequent programming and budget decisions made during the PPBES cycle.
Serves as consultant to Senior Army leadership, Army commands, and other departmental agencies on issues relating to vital resources, research, development, acquisition, installation, training, and sustainment in development of requirements.
For the Chief, Air and Missile Defense and Space Division, supervises promotion, advancement, appraisal, equal opportunity, and other personnel issues as required.
Conceives, articulates, and oversees analytical studies relating to issues involving the RDA and sustainment related program.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Leading the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process to perform strategic level analytics for mid and long-term capability planning and requirements. Overseeing analytical studies of issues involving research, development, acquisition (RDA) and sustainment related program alternatives integrating requirements to balance the equipment resource issues in the budget and program objective memorandum (POM) process. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
