The incumbent serves as a Supervisory IT System Administrator within the Office of Chief Information Officer. The role will provide oversight of daily operations and maintain of Enterprise IT Infrastructure Services, ensuring the management of servers, storage, software, databases, and related equipment. Incumbent shall support planning, implementation and life-cycle sustainment to include helping to develop process and procedures, resource estimates and identify project interdependencies.

- The incumbent will be required to obtain and maintain appropriate Information Technology/Security certifications equivalent to Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level III within six months of the appointment date.
- The incumbent must sign a Statement of Understanding regarding the certification requirement and maintaining the appropriate certification is a condition of employment.

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.
You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG -13 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility.
Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Demonstrated experience conducting the full spectrum of lifecycle management from development to sustainment of production systems. Broad knowledge of IT systems, concepts, principle, and operational practices to include polices and regulations. Providing technical oversight of IT system implementation and operation. Excellent communication skills to be able to discuss IT requirements with technical and non-technical personnel.
Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies:
Information Technology Policy and Planning- Develop and promulgate Information Technology strategy, policy, guidance, and plans. Monitor to ensure consistency and compliance.
Information Technology Configuration Management- Plan, implement, track and/or evaluate configuration/requirement changes across the enterprise and organizations.
Information Technology Life Cycle Management- Plan, develop and/or manage processes across the information systems/services life cycle to ensure Information Technology capabilities meet current and future organizational and enterprise missions.
Information Technology Performance Assessment- Conduct continuous performance measurement to ensure that Information Technology activities, processes, and/or hardware/software are achieving desired results.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
