You will serve as a Supervisory General Supply Specialist in the Project Material Manager Branch (Code 522), Supply Material Support Division of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will serve as a first level supervisor/manager of the Project Material Support Coordinators (PMSC) of the Industrial Support Activity Supply and Logistics Department.
You will ensure all material required for the repair and alternation of ships during availabilities are ordered, expedited, received and inspected to support production schedules.
You will have oversight of supporting material needs, including coordinating with Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) to ensure NAVSUP WSS owned spares are repaired and returned expeditiously.
You will plan and schedule work to be accomplished by subordinates.
You will develop and initiate administrative procedures and controls to ensure that the waterfront material support work accomplished by the PMSCs is performed in an orderly manner within the time and budget constraints.
You will perform other related duties as assigned.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience planning, negotiating, and managing material sourcing and project material support.
Experience developing and controlling supply policies and procedures.
Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience presenting, influencing, and solving supply challenges that affect all stakeholders.
