You will serve as a Supervisory General Supply Specialist in the Material Sourcing Branch (Code 521), Supply Material Support Division, Supply Department, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, Maine.

Duties

You will serve as a first level supervisor of the supply specialists, ensuring all materials required for repair and alteration of ships during availabilities are properly sourced. You will develop and initiate administrative procedures and controls to ensure waterfront material support work is performed in a timely manner within budget constraints. You will serve as the primary liaison for the Shipyard with the supply chain to ensure all material required for repair and alteration of ships during availabilities is ordered and sourced correctly to support production schedules. You will assign work, provide technical guidance, personnel management, performance management, position management, oversee training, recommend promotions, approve leave, recommend awards, resolve disciplinary issues, and administer EEO policies.

  • Relocation Incentive may be authorized in accordance with applicable regulations and available command funding and may require a service agreement.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In order to qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with supply operations and mastery of general supply program management. Experience applying new theories, concepts, and developments to supply problems. Experience analyzing and evaluating automated supply systems to identify requirements for system improvements. Experience performing supervisory duties such as assigning and prioritizing work; providing technical guidance, personnel, performance and position management; identifying training needs; interviewing/selecting candidates for vacancies; recommending promotions and awards; resolving disciplinary issues and administering EEO policies.
