This position is part of the NNSA - Deputy Under Secretary for Counterterrorism and Counterproliferation, Department of Energy. A successful candidate in this position will serve on the Ukraine Task Force as a Program Analyst, providing advice, guidance, and analysis on nuclear and radiological risk reduction, emergency preparedness and incident response, and/or critical energy infrastructure resilience. ***THIS IS A TERM POSITION NTE SEPTEMBER 30, 2025 WITH GENERAL RETURN RIGHTS to DOE/NNSA***

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA Demonstration Project pay band or GS grade level in the Federal service, i.e., NQ-02 or GS-12 level. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: providing advice, guidance, and analysis on issues related to nuclear and radiological risk reduction; emergency preparedness and incident response; and/or critical energy infrastructure resilience. Examples of Specialized Experience: Experience working with leadership staff representing a Federal Agency on issues related to nuclear security or nonproliferation programs. Providing advice on program issues that are controversial in nature and could impact nuclear safety and security or emergency response. Experience building relationships with government and counterparts implementing and developing foreign affairs policies. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. CTAP/ICTAP candidates: To be considered "well qualified" you must meet all of the requirements as described in this section.
