About the Position: This position is located at US ARMY SPECIAL OPERATIONS COMMAND DCS, COMPTROLLER BUDGET AND EXECUTION DIVISION FORT LIBERTY, NC.

Duties

Serves as Budget Analyst in the Budget Execution Division, Deputy Chief of Staff, Comptroller (DCSCMP), U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC). Budget Formulation. Analyzes program and budget guidance and instruction provided by higher headquarters to determine impact on USASOC operations. Budget Execution. Assists program managers, MSUs and staff in relating their objectives to funds available.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • THIS IS A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 2 Certified position designated Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army requirements of this certification program.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Performing a variety of budget oversight functions in the formulation, execution, and presentation of the operating budget. Applying knowledge of budget execution and financial management sufficient to relate the needs and accomplishments of various programs to anticipated and actual dollar figures in the organizational budget. Identifying and extracting budget execution and financial information sufficient to develop reports and analyses. Monitoring and reconciling commitment, obligation, expenditure, and disbursement of funds. Utilizing automated financial systems such as General Funds Enterprise Business System (GFEBS)This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Budget Formulation, Justification & Presentation Financial Management Fundamentals & Operations of Budget Budget Execution Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
