This position is located in the Office of Risk Management and Internal Controls (ORMIC), of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in coordinating internal control and audit follow-up activities throughout the Corporation to ensure FDIC has a strong, effective internal control program.

Duties
Maintains and applies current awareness of emerging information technology trends in information security, project management, business process re-engineering, systems development, enterprise architecture, and program evaluations.
Contributes to information technology and business process re-engineering activities conducted by the office.
Provides guidance to divisions and offices on an annual basis regarding preparation of assurance statements to the FDIC Chairman attesting compliance with internal control requirements and providing substantial compliance with applicable internal control standards.
Participates in internal control reviews and program evaluations of the Corporation’s operations. Reports on their results and recommends solutions and improvements.
Participates in on-site program reviews of FDIC divisions and offices to assist in performing internal reviews of their operations and to develop a first-hand knowledge and understanding of their programs.
Serves as a liaison within the organization to negotiate issues with audit and program managers and executives.
Prepares written analyses and makes recommendations to FDIC management on the implementation of recommended changes to business processes.
Participates in special projects or reviews of cross-cutting Corporate issues that involve responsibilities of multiple Divisions/Offices and presents findings and recommendations to management.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG/GS-12 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing risk assessments; program evaluations and/or reviews identifying internal control issues; and performing research and providing recommended solutions and improvements.
