About the Position: This position is located at Brooke Army Medical center in San Antonio, Texas. A recruitment incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Duties

Performs a wide variety of supply and procurement program analysis and maintenance functions within the medical center. Deploys and maintains the automated dispensing systems, implements proposed program changes. Coordinates for technical support in the event of malfunctions. Receives and reviews request for changes to stock levels and additions or deletions of medications. Compiles and analyzes pharmaceutical utilization reports to determine aspects of cost and benefits in the automation equipment and systems. Ensures regulatory compliance in accordance with Federal, Army, JCAHO, and institutional requirements for pharmaceuticals in the POU system. Developing and issuing functional user manuals, and conducting functional training. Conducts surveys and studies of supply and procurement operations.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• A Personnel Security Investigation is required.

• This position is a Testing Designated Position subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing. Selectees will be required to consent to participation in random drug urinalysis testing.
• A pre-placement medical examination is required.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing inventory of medication or medical supply with automated system, experience advising staff members on supply and equipment issues, and experience utilizing various automated systems such as Defense Medical Logistics Support System (DMLSS), General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS), and LogiCole. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Logistics, Supply Management, Financial Management, and/or Operations Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
