About the Position: Serves as a Lead Supply Management Specialist for standard and/or non-standard; expendable, and non-expendable medical supplies and equipment in the Purchasing Section, Supply Chain Management Branch, Logistics Division at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC).
Duties
Perform a variety of technical support duties related to purchasing medical and/or non-medical supplies and equipment.
Conduct research and analyze information to determine most appropriate vendor, trace sequences of transactions and resolve questions.
Serve as work leader of Supply Technicians: Performs full range of first level team leader duties.
Serve as Billing Official/Approving Official and manager of all credit card orders.
Use a wide range of well-established and commonly applied supply principles, concepts and methodologies in support of supply operations and property management principles, concepts and methodologies.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience and/or educational requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing acquisition, contracting and electronic commerce support to acquire required medical and/or non-medical supplies and equipment by performing duties such as monthly credit card reconciliations, updating supply automated databases, validating monthly transactions retrieved and use data to respond to issues. Manage and reconcile vendor invoices with automated systems such as Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS), General Fund Enterprise Business System (GFEBS), Wide Area Workflow (WAWF), and US Bank; to ensure proper payment is made. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Acquisitions Management, Supply Chain Management, Facilities Management, Property Management or Contract Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
