About the Position:
This position is located at Fort Novosel, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Novosel is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Recreation activities are abundant in the immediate and surrounding areas for family and fun.
Duties
Conduct student training involving any and all aspects of tactical and fixed-based airfield operations concerned.
Prepare for classes by reviewing, lesson plans, instructor guides, course materials, references, and training aids.
Evaluate student progress, conducts counseling and remedial instruction as required.
Contribute to the development and major redesign of programs of instruction.
Assist in developing, writing, modifying and updating of Technical Extension Course (TEC) lessons and/or Army Correspondence Course Program (ACCP) lessons.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Must obtain and maintain a TRADOC recognized Basic Instructor Training Course (ITC) certificate.
- Must complete Cadre Training Course within 6 months of appointment to this position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Conduct structured classroom training pertaining to Airfield Operations. 2). Assist with the development of Airfield Operations course materials. 3) Revise Airfield Operations course materials to meet student's needs. AND 4) Evaluate effectiveness of student progress through test administration. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education level leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
