Duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As a Supervisory Correspondence Management Specialist, you will be:
Planning and implementing the overall procedures and policies for the Executive Correspondence and Support Branch (ECSB) communications management and reference function including the most effective document manager system.
Serving as the Assistant Secretary's spokesperson in all matters relating to documents for the signature or concurrence of the Assistant Secretary and has the authority to define revision required to the documents and to negotiate the resolution of difference between components or between the ECSB and the preparing offices.
Managing the SAMHSA-wide clearance of major policy and decision documents, including reports to Congress, grant funding plans, interagency agreements, Federal Register Notices, Office of Management and Budget (OMB) documents, briefing books, Requests for Applications, and other related documents.
Serving as the final point of clearance for all communications with the White House, Congress, and the Office of the Secretary, national and international organizations; foreign governments, academic institution; members of Congress and their staffs; private corporations and foundations; and the public.
Supervising the correspondence control staff assigned to the ECSB. Planning, assigning, reviewing, managing, and evaluating the work in accordance with ECSB goals and objectives. Establishing work schedules, setting priorities and deadlines; establishing standards of performance and evaluating performance in comparison to these standards.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:
Reviewing controlled correspondence to ensure the content follows established policies and standards.
Coordinating behavioral health policy efforts that may be controversial or sensitive in nature.
Supervising or leading a team.
