About the Position: Serves as an Administrative Support Assistant (OA) performing a variety of administrative and clerical duties in support of personnel management,preparation and control, training, purchasing, files management, reports, and VISA card holder processing and administration.
Duties
As an Administrative Support Assistant (OA), you will:
Provide guidance and assist organizational personnel on personnel management, preparation and control, training, purchasing, files management, reports, and VISA card holder processing and administration.
Maintain accurate time and attendance (T/A) records and accurately inputs the data into the automated processing system in a timely fashion.
Apply a practical knowledge of the organization and makes decisions based on required guidelines, numerous and complex procedures, and
regulations.
Coordinate all training for branch personnel with Training Division Personnel and disseminates information on new fiscal year training opportunities.
Provide expertise for procurement of goods, supplies, and services.

Qualifications at the GS-05 Level: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes preparing and maintaining records and other documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy; experience using personal computer to access various software programs utilizing online resources to obtain information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
Qualifications at the GS-06 Level: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing a variety of administrative support functions including ability to use automated systems to enter and retrieve personnel data for creating reports and for other personnel informational requirements.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
Qualifications at the GS-07 Level: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes coordinating a variety of clerical actions and use of an automated personnel data system in the execution of providing personnel management support; timekeeping; training and travel tracking; purchasing; and providing general administrative support. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04 for GS-05; GS-05 for GS-06; GS-06 for GS-07).
Education
