The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Senior IT Specialist on network enterprise systems; design and monitor new complex systems; and configure and install network hardware/software modifications or upgrades.
Duties
Leads IT teams supporting multiple enclaves and networks at various classification levels.
Assigns work based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of team.
Serves as the Senior IT Specialist to leadership on the network enterprise systems; designs and monitors new complex systems; configures and installs network hardware/software modifications or upgrades.
Installs, configures, and troubleshoots complex network and application server hardware, operating system software, and peripheral network equipment.
Develops and maintains local procedures for networks, system operations, and product assembly and installation.
Designs, develops, and manages systems to meet current and future business requirements, enhances existing architecture, and establishes plans to improve
IT application efficiency.
Collaborates with program managers to assess technical needs, analyze architectures, and develop transition strategies.
Prepares recommendations, justifications, and specifications for network mission equipment.
Changes components of existing equipment for efficient operation or recommends major modifications to existing systems.
Works with technical support personnel in resolving problems in fields of rapidly changing technology.
Maintains currency in the appropriate developments of customer related information technology and state-of-the-art network techniques.
Evaluates existing systems and capabilities to determine IT solutions; assess emerging technology impacts; and integrates cyber, IT, or IM programs and services.

Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Information Technology (IT) Management Series 2210 (Alternative A). Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks), or will have one year within 120 days of closing of this announcement, specialized experience equivalent to the DO-01, GS-11 or equivalent grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes configuring and installing network hardware/software modifications or upgrades; installing, configuring, and troubleshooting complex network and application server hardware, operating system software and peripheral network equipment; and/or developing and maintaining local procedures for networks, system operations and product assembly and installation.
