In this position you will serve as the Flight Chief exercising supervisory and managerial authority over the 96 CS/SCO Flight; delivering first-class "COMM" to advance Team Eglin's warfighting capabilities. Responsible for performing professional information technology, scientific and management work in all areas of squadron operations

Serves as first level supervisor for 5 branch chiefs Manages prioritization of effort for the Operations Flight Serves as a key member of the Squadron's senior leadership team coordinating cross-flight solutions and providing recommendations to the Squadron Commander Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the unit. Performs professional Cyberspace work involved in the application of Information Technology (IT) theories, concepts, principles, and processes. Applies expert knowledge and mastery of those theories, principles, concepts, standards, and methods to ensure assigned projects remain consistent with program objectives, costs, schedules, performance criteria, and existing policies.

  • This position MAY be eligible for paid relocation (Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs MAY be paid). Specifics will be discussed with the Selecting Official.
  • Employee must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
  • This is a designated Drug Testing Position
  • Supervisory requirements may be required depending upon the position being filled.

  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft, up to 25% Travel possible
  • The employee may be required to obtain and maintain required professional/technical certifications
  • This position may be designated as an acquisition position covered by the Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) or as a Cyberspace Professional covered by the AF Cyberspace Professional Development Program (CPDP).
  • The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for Information Technology (IT) Management Series 2210 (Alt A) positions located here SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-03 or equivalent to the next lower grade GS-13 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is coordinating, advising, planning, and organizing all activities related to the cybersecurity and A&A of the organizations classified and unclassified base network enclaves; perform duties as a senior information technology (IT) specialist providing a wide range of IT and network security services tailored to support critical in-garrison and deployed command, control, and mission information, processes, and systems and providing advanced knowledge and skill in the use of IT systems. Position specific skills and experience desired in a potential candidate Progressive leadership experience at various levels Experience leading diverse teams Current, relevant technical experience Experience: Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Knowledge of the theories, concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, and materials of professional computer science, and knowledge of other technical disciplines to effectively apply advanced computer software, software systems and computer hardware architectural theories, principles and concepts to new applications, experimental theories, and other areas of responsibility. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies
