The Office of Inspector General (OIG) of the Architect of the Capitol (AOC) heads an independent and objective organization responsible for audit, investigation, and inspection and evaluation related to programs and operations of the AOC. The OIG provides leadership and coordination and recommends policies for activities designed to promote economy, efficiency, and effectiveness in the administration of programs and operations, as well as to prevent and detect fraud, waste and abuse.
Duties
As the Assistant Inspector General for Operations (AIGO), you will manage day-to-day direction, supervision, and oversight of the Operations Division, which includes the following:

- You must meet the definition of specialized experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.

To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Candidates for the GS-15 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service.Specialized experience for this position includes:
1.) Performing leadership experience by supervising and/or directing management and operations support activities within an oversight entity.
2.) Conducting and managing operations activities that include budget, document clearance, policy support, and strategy development.
3.) Performing administrative and technical supervisory functions such as developing reports and statistical data.
4.) Drafting or reviewing proposed legislation on OIG programs, procedures, and/or operations on existing laws.
