You will serve as a Legal Assistant (Office Automation) in the Marine Corps Detachment of the Training Command (TRNGCMD) of TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMAND.
Duties
You will serve as the Detachment Commander's primary Legal Technician and liaison between the Detachment and Training Command Staff Judge Advocate.
You will serve as the primary Detachment authority on processing adverse administrative personnel actions and separations.
You will perform extensive legal research in the areas of military justice, administrative law, administrative separations, commanders' inquiries, and reports of investigation.
You will plan, prepare, and publish administrative separations and rehabilitative transfers in accordance with established policies and procedures.
You will prepare all actions for the Special Courts-Martial Convening Authority in the realm of enlisted elimination actions.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-08) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing most or all of the following duties: 1) Advising management on processes, procedures, and practices in support of legal administrative activities as it pertains to military justice; 2) Researching, interpreting, applying, and explaining the application of law, procedures, regulations, and practices to develop legal cases, provide legal services to military reservists, and document legal assignments; 3) Gathering and analyzing data utilizing demonstrated knowledge of military legal services and litigation activities to resolve legal issues and provide legal services; 4) Preparing legal briefs and analysis summaries ensuring the identification of relevant facts for case materials; and 5) Liaising with internal and external personnel at all levels to coordinate office legal activities.
