This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Office of Finance (FN).
This position(s) primary purpose is to support the Office of Finance (FN), with administration functions; provide system testing, documentation, and communications support for system configuration and business process changes; provide help desk support to users DEA wide; maintain security and user account tables.
Duties
As a Financial Management Systems Specialist, your typical work assignments may include:
Providing technical front-line assistance to DEA users in several financial management systems/applications.
Maintaining security and user account tables.
Developing and maintaining a variety of system documentation and guidance (e.g., Desk reference guides, Job aids, Newsletters and bulleting's) to address financial system application issues, processes, and enhancements.
Performing system and regression testing.
Developing requirements for reports and applications to supplement financial business processes.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all of the required qualification requirements described below by the closing of this announcement.

Applicants applying for the GS-11 pay grade must meet one of the following requirements:
A. Have at least one full year of qualifying specialized experience that is at least equivalent in difficulty and complexity to work performed at the GS-09 grade level. Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing financial systems testing; 2) Updating financial systems documentation and providing communications support for financial management operations; 3) Providing financial systems help desk support; 3) Analyzing financial reporting and application systems; 4) Reviewing systems documents related to financial management; 5) Maintaining financial system configuration tables including security and use account tables.

B. Education: Three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree NOTE: Graduate education must provide the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

C. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
