This position is located in the Deputy to the Chairman & Chief Operating Office, Human Resources Branch, Staffing, Classification and Processing Operations of the FDIC, and is responsible for providing operational recruitment, placement, and staffing activities nationwide. Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill identical vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. CG-11: To qualify, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 9 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience researching federal human resources regulations, policies, and procedures to provide guidance on staffing matters; and developing job analysis, preparing job opportunity announcements and making eligibility/qualification determinations using an automated recruitment system. OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related, from an accredited university. OR A combination of experience and education that totals 100% of the requirement. CG-12: To qualify, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 11 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as performing the full range of recruitment and placement functions utilizing merit promotion and delegated examining procedures including developing job analysis, preparing job opportunity announcements and making eligibility/qualification determinations using an automated recruitment system; and providing advice and guidance on human resources matters. Selective Placement Factor,  for the CG-12 only: In addition to the qualification requirements listed above, you must also meet the following selective factor to be considered eligible for this job. The selective factor is defined as: Current Delegated Examining certification by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management is required for this position. Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors – if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement.
