This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the Office of Engraving. As a Production Specialist, you will manage numerous programs and projects involving the research and development of new technologies and processes within all areas of the Office of Engraving and Bureau of Engraving and Printing.
Duties
As a Production Specialist, you will:
Manage processes through which new engraving technologies are developed, tested, and validated.
Analyze Engraving practices and develop plans for the implementation of new practices supporting efficiency and a more environmentally friendly workplace.
Contribute to a multitude of administrative activities for Office of Engraving (OE). Areas of involvement include procurement of engraving technologies, features and systems for evaluation; strategic planning; program planning and forecasting; budget input; resource planning; security, accountability and internal control procedure development and implementation; and computer systems implementation and support.
Investigate problems and prepare reports for the Chief, OE, presenting recommendations for action(s) as necessary.
Plan and execute various projects assigned. This includes establishing deliverables and securing acceptance and approval, effectively communicating the status of projects, managing risks, and ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within scope.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as applying technical knowledge and management skills to lead a manufacturing or process focused program or division.
Examples of such experience may include:
Assisting with the technical evaluation of new technologies, systems, processes, or materials/equipment; or
Developing or assessing quality or standard operating procedures; or
Implementing process or continual improvement efforts to increase efficiency; or
Managing projects aimed at acquiring and implementing new technology or equipment.
*In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
