This position is located at Departmental Offices,Domestic Finance - Financial Markets. As a Financial Advisor, you will be you will be providing ad hoc analysis of structured credit markets; specifically, there effect on both general and Treasury market performance.

Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
Plan, design, and conduct comprehensive statistically based studies of significant scope and complexity for Debt Management programs and structured credit issues; applies industry best practices for financial modeling.
Lead and/or participate in analytical studies dealing with the modeling of structured credit and Treasury related markets.
Respond to inquiries from Congressional staff and oversees the production of ad hoc status reports for use in Congressional requests, testimony, press releases, academic studies, and FOIA requests.
Provide technical guidance and assistance in the conduct of special analyses and reviews Debt Management program activities.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience for the GS-13 level: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience in at least 3 out of the 5 in the following areas:
Analyzing and interpreting a vast array of financial markets, such as: fixed income markets, FX markets, or financial derivatives markets and economic data;
Working with large data sets, scrubbing data, and building either relational databases or low latency databases;
Conducting comprehensive statistical studies and analysis on a variety of financial market data using quantitative techniques and presenting findings to colleagues and senior management or the public;
Providing technical guidance on quantitative methods used to conduct financial market (fixed income, FX, or financial derivatives) analysis including the development of performance and risk metrics or forecasts;
Experience with two or more of the following areas: analyzing sovereign debt issuance, analyzing corporate debt issuance, central bank operations and monetary policy operations, bank balance sheet optimization, financial risk analysis, financial options and futures, FX markets, or financial derivatives markets.
Specialized Experience for the GS-12 level: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience in at least 2 out of the 5 in the following areas:

TIME-IN-GRADE: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-13, you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks.
For the GS-12, you must have been at the GS-11 level for 52 weeks.
TIME AFTER COMPETITIVE APPOINTMENT: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
