The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to 6 Force Support Squadron, MacDill AFB Florida.
Duties
Performs supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Serves as a first-level supervisor, Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF): NF-0525-III (1 ea) Lead Accounting Technician, NF-0525-III (2 ea) Accounting Technician, NF- 0326-II (1 ea) Program Clerk and a NF-0530-II (1 ea) Central Cashier.
Maintains, reconciles, and closes accounts involving a variety of transactions.
Analyzes and examines accounting data and accounts to resolve complex, nonstandard transactions, complaints, or discrepancies.
Prepares reports and performs or oversees other miscellaneous technical tasks in support of the accounting function.

- Incumbent is required to file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be required to file annually.
- This position performs 75% technical work that equates to the GS-07 level and 25% supervisory work that equates to the GS-07.
- This is a Financial Management Level 1 Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, Section 1599d (CONT. Below)
- Incumbent shall comply with the requirements of this certification program.
- A one (1) year supervisory probationary period may be required if not previously completed.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes In-depth or broad knowledge of a body of accounting procedures and techniques to understand and work with a total accounting system which involves different programs that generate a large variety of transactions; Knowledge of extensive and diverse accounting regulations, operations, and procedures governing a wide variety of types of related transactions to resolve nonstandard transactions, complaints, or discrepancies; provide advice; or perform other work that requires authoritative procedural knowledge.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Detailed knowledge of NAF financial concepts an extensive body of accounting procedures to understand and work with an identifiable segment of an integrated double-entry accounting system.
2. Knowledge of the NAF accounting system sufficient to follow individual funds and specific monies from initiation through expenditure stages to trace discrepancies in the system.
3. Knowledge of paying (Prompt Payment Act) and collecting regulations and procedures. Knowledge of personnel management principles, practices and procedures.
4. Knowledge of accounting files, listings, and document control systems as well as the relationships between accounts and the effect of debit and credit entries on the system of accounts. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
5. Knowledge of account codes related to an automated system and the requirements for processing transactions in an automated system.
6. Skill in operating a calculator and utilizing a keyboard to access or locate information through the use of a personal computer or terminal.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
