You will serve as a Motor Vehicle Operator Leader in the Logistics Readiness Department, Deployment and Distribution, Vehicle Operation Branch of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR PEARL HARBOR(647th Logistics Readiness Squadron, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii).

Duties

You will train on all commercial vehicles assigned to the installation to include tractor/trailer combinations and passenger buses on the training course. You will instruct students in federal, state and local laws pertaining to proper operation of various tractor/trailer types and other assigned vehicles to the Ground Transportation section. You will use the Online Vehicle Interactive Management System (OLVIMS) to enter, track data regarding multiple actions regarding driver-licensing operations and processing of members IAW regulations. You will serve as the primary Equipment Support (EQ) Custodian and Vehicle Control Official for Ground Transportation IAW regulations. You will plan and organize work for a crew where judgment involves considering individual abilities. You will operate mobile equipment such as automobiles, trucks, mobile cranes, mobile well drilling equipment, etc.

  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You must be able to obtain/maintain proper licensing to include Class A Commercial Driver's License with P and X endorsement.
  • This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: I have the ability to, as demonstrated by experience leading, instructing, and/or supervising others, who perform the full range of Mover Vehicle Operator tasks including: training other employees on all commercial vehicles to include tractor/trailer combinations and passenger buses; Instruct others in federal, state and local laws pertaining to proper operation of various tractor/trailer types; I have knowledge, skill and demonstrated experience in the proper and safe operation of one or more types of vehicles or equipment (GVW of more than 32,000 pounds) in accordance with federal, state and local laws which includes operation of tractor/trailer combinations, special and general purpose vehicles; Use the Online Vehicle Interactive Management System (OLVIMS) to enter, track data regarding multiple actions regarding driver-licensing operations and processing of members IAW regulations; Maintain jacks, spare tires, emergency supplies, and supplies for maintaining the assigned fleet; Strictly comply with safe vehicle operating procedures, posted traffic lights, road signs, federal and state laws, and statues governing motor vehicle operations; determine best route to reach disabled vehicles from impediments; Make on the spot repairs if possible to avoid tow-in; and plan and organize work for a crew where judgement involves considering individual ability. I work on my own initiative under limited supervision subject to occasional inspection.
