You will serve as a PROGRAM MANAGER (DEPUTY OPERATIONS OFFICER) in the N3 of NAVAL SPECIAL WARFARE GROUP EIGHT.

Duties

You will provide leadership to NSWG-8 Operations Department personnel, as well as to the Operation Departments of all NSWG-8 components. You will perform a range of supervisory functions to include, but not limited to, assignment of work to subordinates based on priorities; evaluates work performance of subordinates; gives advice, counsel, and instruction to subordinates. You will serves as the NSWG-8 continuity for operational planning, concept of operation (CONOP) development, and coordination. You will coordinate with the NSWG-8 Comptroller and subordinate commands to facilitate the budget process. You will review and analyze operational plans and orders for suitability, feasibility, acceptability, technical accuracy, adequacy, and integration of SOF content.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Incumbent is subject to random counterintelligence scope polygraph examinations.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing, leading, or directing personnel throughout an organization or department; AND provide resource management, operational planning, or joint exercise / training coordination and oversight of forces through all aspects of Force Development, Force Generation, or Force Employment.
