The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as the Director of Air Force Lessons Learned, for the LeMay Center for Doctrine Development and Education.
Duties
Directs, plans, organizes, and manages the programs and activities of the LeMay Center Air Force Lessons Learned Directorate.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Represents Air Force Lessons Learned with Department of Defense, Headquarters Air Force and International organizations.
Makes a periodic, comprehensive assessment and evaluation of program goals/objectives which provide a basis for long-range planning to enhance the Air Force's lessons learned capabilities.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions- Management and Program Analysis (0343).
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 (or higher) grade level or equivalent pay systems (may have been obtained in the federal service, military, or public sector). My Experience includes knowledge of military Services, as well as Department of Defense plans, policies, and procedures, a wide range of Air Force operations, operational tactics, techniques and procedures; principles, laws, regulations, programs, and practices; knowledge of a wide range of personnel (civilian and military) concepts, principles, operations, laws, regulations, programs, and practices; and practical knowledge of education, readiness, and budget execution concepts, principles, operations, and practices. Extensive knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structure, management, and operation of large organizations to provide high level staff guidance and participate in the development of goals, objectives, and policies. Knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures related to developing, planning, budgeting, and coordinating activities, programs, facility programming, contracting, and customer interests and needs.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-14 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-15 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

Extensive knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structure, management, and operation of large organizations to provide high level staff guidance and participate in the development of goals, objectives, and policies.
Knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures related to developing, planning, budgeting, and coordinating
activities, programs, facility programming, contracting, and customer interests and needs.
Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, Military Equal Opportunity (MEO) and EEO regulations,
practices, and procedures.
Skill in managing the work operations of multiple organizational segments to meet program requirements, goals, and objectives within available resources.
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization directly and through subordinates; Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
