About the Position: Work will be completed in a Headquarters office setting, in a fast-paced collaborative environment, primarily working weekdays during standard business hours. The applicant can expect to achieve and experience an understanding of the complexity of managing Nursing operations across 26 Medical Treatment Facilities (MTFs) in direct support of the overall DHA mission.
This is a Direct Hire Solicitation.
Duties
Direct support of Network pinnacle leadership implementation of any/all DHA and or Network level nursing associated policy/programs/initiatives to improve care.
Provide expert guidance to Network leadership and MTFs regarding nursing associated matters to include but not limited to policy, instructions, and clinical operations.
Collaborate with the Medical Affairs staff to support the Network MTFs in meeting clinical operations objectives.
Maintain clear understanding of MHS RA metrics in the categories of Quality and Safety, and Outcomes, and assist the Network Medical Affairs Team and All MTFs in efforts to meet the goals for these measures.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Degree: Bachelor's or graduate (or higher level) degree from an accredited professional nursing educational program or healthcare related field appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) assisting with standardizing clinical and nursing policies; 2) monitoring clinical care requirements within a medical facility or network of medical facilities; 3) advising on regulations that impact patient care; AND 4) identifying the impact of fiscal issues to clinical care. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
This position has a Selective Placement Factor: Applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination. In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
