You will serve as a FIRE PROTECTION INSPECTOR at NAS KINGSVILLE TX.
Duties
You will inspect fire protection systems (e.g., alarm system, fire suppression system) to maintain system readiness.
You will present fire protection and prevention education or training to employees.
You will write reports of fire inspections performed, fire code violations observed, and corrective recommendations offered.
You will coordinate placement of firefighting equipment or other resources during emergencies.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: 1) Conducting Fire Inspections; identifying potential fire and safety hazards; 2) Inspecting, testing, Identifying, and correcting fire protection system deficiencies; 3) Reviewing new construction plans and recommending fire protection requirements; and 4) Scheduling and providing fire safety training. You must possess the following certifications: Fire Inspector I & II, Fire Instructor I, Firefighter I & II, Airport Firefighter, Hazmat Awareness Operations, Emergency First Responder, Emergency Vehicle Operator Course
