You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER in NAVY REGION SOUTH (NRS) of NAS KINGSVILLE TX.
Duties
You will be responsible for making appropriate decisions relative to firefighting and rescue operations.
You will be responsible for setting and evaluating standards and goals for the fire station and employees.
You will brief senior leaders or other employees on matters on firefighting actives, personnel, and equipment.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all precautionary measures are taken to prevent unnecessary risk to the personnel during firefighting operations.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain Emergency Vehicle Operations Certification (EVOC).
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS 08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applies principles, practices, and techniques applicable to crash, and structural firefighting, fire suppression, emergency medical services and rescue techniques; 2) Trains personnel in fire protection and prevention; 3) Interviews and provides recommendations to higher level supervisors for appointment, promotions, retentions and reassignment of employees; and 4) Manages a hazardous materials protection and control program (i.e., knowledge of hazardous materials used; development of contingency plan; deployment of vehicles with specialized equipment, etc). Certification requirements:**This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Fire Officer II, Fire Inspector I, Fire Instructor I, HAZMAT Incident Commander, Airport Firefighter (ARFF), Apparatus Driver/Operator Pumper, Apparatus Driver/Operator Aerial, National Registry Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-B), and CPR. NOTE: These certifications must have been awarded by DOD, IFSAC or Pro-Board to meet the requirement. Copies of Certifications MUST be submitted with your application to verify eligibility. If you do not possess all of the above certifications you will be rated ineligible.***
