You will serve as a LEAD FIREFIGTHER (BLS/HAZMAT TECH) in the Fire and Emergency Services of NAS KINGSVILLE TX.
Duties
You will lead a crew of three or more firefighters assigned to staff a pumper, aerial ladder truck, or rescue vehicle in firefighting and rescue operations.
You will direct the operation of firefighting equipment (e.g., pumps, turrets, extended waterways, ground sweep nozzles).
You will establish on-scene control procedures (e.g., zone control, decontamination) in a hazardous material incident.
You will identify training requirements to correct an employee's performance.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

- Must participate in the fitness/Wellness Program in accordance with CBA.

- Shall be required to participate on a Hazardous Materials Team (HAZMAT).
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Performing rescue operations; 2) Assisting in the reduction and elimination of potential fire hazards; 3) Operating a variety of firefighting vehicles, apparatuses, or equipment; and 4) Performing non-invasive emergency and medical procedures. NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position.
***This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Firefighter I/II, Airport Firefighter, HazMat Operations, HazMat Technician 1 year to obtain, Driver Operator Pumper, Driver Operator ARFF, Driver Operator Aerial, Fire Officer I, Fire Inspector I, Fire Instructor I. Copy of Certification MUST be submitted with your application. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. Also requires National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Basic (NREMT-B)-(BLS) certification. Do you possess the above certifications?
