You will serve as an Equipment Specialist in Undersea Warfare Systems Engineering Division of the In-Service Engineering Department of Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Keyport Division (NAVUNSEAWARCENDIV KEYPORT WA).

Duties

You will participate in all phases of operational and maintenance support of equipment, which includes acquisition, installation and check-out, operation support, and end of life. You will chair and attend conferences with contractors, suppliers, users, and repairers to develop overall equipment support plans. You will prepare and give briefings to diverse groups, from small groups, to departments, from individual sailors to admirals in charge of programs. You will compile, maintain, and revise allowance lists, provisioning documents, or other designations of tools, parts, and components necessary for the efficient operation and repair of equipment and systems. You will investigate reports of abnormal consumption of materials and recommend corrective measures. You will review, analyze, and evaluate deficiency and failure reports. You will recommend equipment modification, procedural changes, and maintenance changes. You will review equipment performance against standards, rated capacity and maintenance history. You will provide on-site maintenance assistance during installation of and installed Countermeasure Submarine Acoustic (CSA) system equipment. You will investigate unprecedented major equipment deficiencies. You will assist provide and training instructions and devices to suppliers, users, and repairers. You will support procurement and hardware acquisition by reviewing procurement documentation, ensuring correct requirements and technical date is provided. You will collect, analyze, and report date for operations and maintenance of External Countermeasure Launchers and Countermeasure devices in the Navy. You will provide training to support fleet operations, prepare training and outline materials, and conduct familiarization training to electronics/engineering technicians, and Intermediate Maintenance Activity personnel. You will evaluate the effects of changes and propose modifications on the Countermeasure Submarine Acoustic (CSA) system equipment and procedures. You will evaluate alternatives to meet the system requirements and technical support objectives within rigid schedule and resource constraints. You will provide technical advice for the development of technical policies. You will establish reliability and maintainability requirements to meet performance goals. You will apply logical approaches to solve complex technical and programmatic problems. You will develop/review ILS products to establish the most efficient and effective life cycle support for Countermeasure Submarine Acoustic (CSA) system equipment.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying a range of practices concerning equipment to solve complex problems associated with the installation or maintenance of submarine defensive systems such as Countermeasure Set, Acoustic (CSA) systems, Acoustic Device, Countermeasures (ADC), and External Countermeasure Launchers (ECL) electronic communications systems.
