About the Position: Fort Gregg-Adams, Home of Logistic Warriors, is a US Army installation located near the Tri-Cities of Petersburg, Colonial Heights, and Hopewell, VA. Fort Gregg-Adams is south of Richmond, the Capital of Virginia. There are a number of important missions accomplished by the activities located here. The missions accomplished at Fort Gregg-Adams include combat and training development and the professional development of military personnel through various training programs.
Duties
Collect information on military readiness to investigate force projection, deployment, and transportation concerns.
Assess Army force projection and deployment planning requirements using military systems and processes.
Coordinate projects and teams to develop process and procedural improvements.
Develop and conducts force projection experiments and exercises; documents and validates force projection capability requirements.
Analyze historical/current operations using qualitive and quantitative data to develop relevant process improvement strategies and recommendations.
Analyze data on various military entities on lessons learned from foreign and/or US operations.
Identify gaps and develop options and alternatives on the deployment processes, including deployment information system functions; recommend solutions for consideration at Army and Joint General Officer-level forums.
Prepare correspondence related to deployment/redeployment and force projection to inform leaders at all levels and assist in decision making.
Provide input to higher level for recommendations of doctrine, regulation, and policy to increase Army force projection and deployment readiness.
Provide feedback on how to improve military force projections/operations, deployment, and transportation operations.
Present information briefings to senior leaders as required.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience includes: 1) Ability to analyze historical/current operations using qualitive and quantitative data to develop relevant process improvement strategies and recommendations; 2) Leading projects and teams in support of organizational mission and goals; 3) Preparing and presenting executive level correspondence and briefings to senior leaders. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
